I do have one question: What about the films? Films are a more collaborative project with decidedly good people involved (namely Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson) and, with the main Harry Potter films at least, Ms Rowling was a lot less involved. 48:01 Maybe the use of references so rapidly isn't the issue so much as their use containing the aesthetic of their influences more than the emotional peaks. The Ghost in the Shell inspiration, for instance. That climax represents a breaking point (literally) that has built over the course of the film, where the main character's pursuit of an answer to her existential conflicts pushes her to the very edge. That peak isn't there at that point of the story in Signalis. While the situation is comparable, the main character hasn't "earned" that degree of urgency, narratively speaking. That said. I don't have any real qualms with it. I've collaborated with a number of visual artists in my life, and clearly the sensory aspect of visuals was important to these devs. Let them enjoy the occasional conceit of form over function, I say. Worth it for the end product. They still gave it meaning and practical application, so no harm no foul.

The update that makes the flashlight and eye camera no longer take up inventory space isn't on the Switch. I was bery suprised when i heard you say that. They shouldn't take up space realistically. The loght goes on your shoulder and the eye camera in your eye. They shouldn't take up space.

The only thing that I somewhat disagree is the Memory ending that to me is more simple: I believe Elser didn't get recognized because with time passing Ariane is so deteriorated that she even lost her memories, becoming amost hollow (even tho it goes a bit in conflict with game ending stats that output this ending if game is comleted sooner than later). Either way your theory is interesting too!
